Forbes & Lomax have, from the start, been producing fashionable, aesthetically pleasing switches and sockets for over 25 years. In 1988 the elegant glass, nickel and brass switches were no longer available and the modern equivalents were ugly and unsuitable for projects that prestigious interior designers were working on at the time. It was with this problem in mind that Forbes & Lomax launched The Invisible Lightswitch – a simple, transparent acrylic plate allowing the wallpaper or paint to show through with a stylish metal toggle switch in the centre.
These switches and sockets were able to combine an attractive design with all the advantages of modern technology as well as safety features that are involved in the modern day switch or socket.

The Nickel Silver choice has a high polished nickel plate, creating a luxurious mirror finish, which is however much warmer and less clinical than chrome making it much more appealing for living areas. Lastly, the Antique Bronze finish provides a rich, warm hue making them attractive in both contemporary and traditional interiors – working particularly well on wood panelling and other unusual surroundings.
